Extensive green roof – thickness 4-15 cm, weight 30-220 kg/m2. It is covered with xerophytic plants which don’t require special nurturing. Most often these include stonecrops, saxifrages, ornamental grasses, herbs, houseleeks, alyssums and thymes. They are resistant to tough conditions, such as dry weather periods, winds or scorching sun. Extensive green roof is economical, considering both its construction and future maintenance costs. It is possible to build it also on sloped surfaces – even up to 35o.
