Website of the Garden over the head project, which aimed at promoting and transferring Swiss know-how on improving buildings’ energy efficiency by equipping them with green roofs and living walls. Since such solutions improve buildings’ thermal insulation, it is worth to include them in local climate & energy plans. Thanks to the study visit in Switzerland, a country of green roofs and walls, as well as thematic workshops, conferences, green roof days and consultations with Swiss and Poilish experts, participating cities got familiar with the achievements of Basel (where approx. 25% of roof surface is covered with plants) and Zurich (whose roof plantations of Orchids amaze not only the environmentalists). They also learned how to plan and implement similar investment on their territories.
